Hello!

Thank you for visiting my ramshackle corner of the internet.

Since I was little, I have immersed myself in stories of all genres and mediums. I was the six-year-old with a homemade sword sprinting full tilt across the backyard, fully convinced he was charging the Orc line at Pelennor Fields. The kid reading Eragon in a tree (yes actually in a tree, don't ask I don't know) or waiting in line at the book store with an armful of Star Wars comics.

Stories certainly served as an escape for me when I struggled to cope, but as I got older I found they do more than block out the world for a little while. They reflect it in a funhouse mirror sort of way. They warp and exaggerate reality, turning it inside out and holding it up to the exposing light. Simply put, they make sense of things, and put to page or screen the fears, anxieties, hopes, or whatever else I strain to articulate.

If you ask me, this is the magic of storytelling. Conveying those universal truths we all experience.

When I was about eight I attempted my first piece of writing. Then came a hiatus of seventeen-odd years... a bumpy road that brought me through adolescence, the hazy late teens, and the disillusionment of my early twenties.

Finally, I'm back doing what makes me happy. Writing stories and trying to make my own heads or tails of existence. Emulating and hopefully honoring all those tales that came before and touched me so deeply.

I write to bring you, dear reader, a fraction of that joy other writers have always brought me. I hope to talk again from the other side of a book one day.

Until then...

Cheers,

M.
